Problem areas / controversies

  • AMD recorded approximately $800 million in inventory and related charges in the second quarter of 2025 after U.S. export controls affected MI308 products; the issue was a company and policy exposure rather than a reported personal violation by Hu. ([sec.gov](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2488/000000248826000018/amd-20251227.htm?utm_source=openai))
  • AMD’s 2025 results still included approximately $440 million of net inventory and related charges connected to the MI308 export-control issue, which reduced gross-margin performance. ([sec.gov](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2488/000000248826000018/amd-20251227.htm?utm_source=openai))
  • AMD’s Embedded segment declined 3% in 2025, and the company continues to face demand volatility, inventory risks, and short product cycles across semiconductor markets. ([sec.gov](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2488/000000248826000018/amd-20251227.htm?utm_source=openai))
