Richard Wallace

Biography
Wallace joined KLA Instruments in 1988 as an applications engineer after earlier engineering roles at Ultratech Stepper and Cypress Semiconductor. He later held leadership positions in wafer inspection, lithography control, customer operations and other product groups, including responsibility for major businesses with profit-and-loss accountability. Before becoming CEO, Wallace served as KLA-Tencor’s president and chief operating officer in 2005. He became CEO and a board director in January 2006, and was appointed president in November 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in engineering management from Santa Clara University.
