Biography

Archer joined Lam Research in 2012 when Lam acquired Novellus Systems, where he had been chief operating officer. Before Novellus, Archer spent 18 years in technology development and leadership roles there, including responsibility for the PECVD and Electrofill business units, worldwide sales and marketing, and customer satisfaction. He began his career at Tektronix in 1989, working on process development for high-speed bipolar integrated circuits. Archer holds a bachelor's degree in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology and completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School. He has also served on the boards of Johnson Controls International, SEMI, and the National GEM Consortium.
