Is INTU-Intuit a buy?

Wednesday 26 August 2026

Why now: The stock is being repriced sharply in the premarket after fiscal 2027 guidance, creating a new “reset” valuation moment for a high-cash-flow franchise. The timing edge is informational, not technical: the next several weeks will be driven by management’s explanation of the slowdown and the September 17 Investor Day.

Upside: Street aggregate target implies about 14.5% upside from the prior close, and today’s gap down increases that potential rebound if guidance fears prove temporary. Longer term, upside depends on re-accelerating core platform growth while keeping operating income expanding.

Risks: The near-term risk is that fiscal 2027 guidance reflects a durable slowdown in TurboTax and Mailchimp, not a one-year investment dip. The second risk is that the post-guidance selloff becomes a longer de-rating cycle for the stock even if earnings keep rising.
